Dr. Roseberry obtained his B.A. in Chemistry from Northwestern University, his M.S. in Exercise and Sport Science from Colorado State University, and his PhD in Pharmacology from Northwestern University. He then did post-doctoral fellowships with Dr. Jeffrey Friedman at The Rockefeller University and Dr. John Williams at The Vollum Institute at Oregon Health and Sciences University. After a brief stint as a Scientist at The Coca-Cola Company, he spent a short time at Marquette University, and then moved to his current position at Georgia State University.

In addition to running his laboratory, Dr. Roseberry currently teaches Biol6102/Neur6010 Neurobiology and is developing a new undergraduate course in Neuropharmacology. He also serves on the GSU IACUC and recently joined the Molecular Neuropharmacology and Signaling (MNPS) study section for the NIH.

MC is a PhD student in the Neuroscience program. MC received her BA in Neuroscience from Boston University and her MS in Biology from GSU. She is currently working on projects examining the role of MC3Rs in the VTA.

Cameron is a new PhD student in the lab. He received his BS from Georgia College and State University. Cameron then worked in the lab during his time in the Biology MS program at GSU. He has been working on a project examining the effects of psychostimulants on food self-administration and will be transitioning to a new project for his PhD work.

Rhianna is a new PhD student in the Biology program. Rhianna worked in the lab during her time in the GSU Neuroscience MS program, and she received her BA degree from the University of California, Sacramento. She will be working on a project examining signaling by MC3Rs and MC4Rs.

Katelyn is a MS student in the Neuroscience program who started in the lab in the Spring semester of 2022. She received her BS from West Virgia University. She is currently working on anatomy projects involving tracing axon projections and using RNAScope to characterize different neuron populations.

Jeewaka Manamendra

Jeewaka started working in the lab as an undergraduate researcher and is in the dual-degree ('4+1') program. He finished his undergraduate work in May, 2023 and is now doing the MS portion of the program. Jeewaka has been managing our mouse colony and is working on optogenetic and behavior experiments in the lab.

Charlie started working in the lab as an undergraduate researcher and is in the dual-degree ('4+1') program. He finished his undergraduate work in May, 2023 and is now doing the MS portion of the program. He is working on a behavioral project in the lab.

Anika Sabnis

Anika started working in the lab as an undergraduate researcher and is in the dual-degree ('4+1') program. She finished her undergraduate work in May, 2023 and is now doing the MS portion of the program. She is working on a project using our new FED3.1 devices to examine how psychostimulants affect food intake.

Ngoc Tran

Niti Jani

Niti is an undergraduate Neuroscience major in the Honor's college and is a Presidential Scholar. She is still getting acclimated to the lab and is learning new techniques.

Prior Lab Members:

Anna Dunigan--Anna finished her PhD in 2020 and stayed in the lab as a postdoctoral associate until August 2021. She is currently a clinical coordinator at Emory University.

Jin Kim--Jin finished his MS in 2020 and is currently attending dental school.

Katherine Stuhrman West--Katherine (Kat) finished her PhD in July 2018. She is current teaching at Georgia Perimeter College at GSU.

Laranci Shanmugarajah--Laranci finished her MS in 2015. She is attended Pharmacy school at the University of Texas after leaving the lab.

Nia Mitchell--Nia was an undergraduate researcher in the laboratory and graduated in 2019. She is currently attending medical school at Duke University.
